Information about the Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits
The GI bill will not pay for flight training thru private pilot. You must have your private pilot license before beginning training under the GI Bill Benefits. You must attend a part 141 school to receive benefits. A part 141 school typically takes more hours at a higher hourly cost to receive your private pilots license. It is best to train at a part 61 school to receive your private pilots license then pursue your additional licenses and ratings using the more expensive covered school. Once you receive your private pilots license you can easily move to another school without any penalty.
