Q.
How long does it take to get a private pilot's license?
A.
The FAA requires 40 hours of flight time with
various other requirements within that regarding solo
time, cross country time, night/IFR, and dual
instruction time. The average amount of flying time to earn a
PPL is 53-57 hours. The amount of time this takes to
complete is up to you, but it is recommended that you
fly twice a week.
Q.
How safe is flying?
A.
Statistics show that you are much safer in an
airplane than you are in your own car. Plus all of our
aircraft undergo regular maintenance performed by highly
qualified professionals.
Q.
Can anyone learn to fly?
A.
Well, just about everyone. There is an age
requirement of 16 years, you must be able to pass a
simple physical given by an FAA licensed physician, and
you must be willing to work hard at it, there is quite a
bit of information you will be required to know to earn
a PPL.
Q. How much will it
cost?
A.
If you fly one of our aircraft
you can expect to spend 125.00 - 148.00 per hour, this
includes instructor fees and fuel. Once you factor in
supplies, test fees, and maybe even money for gas to get
to the airport, you could expect to spend anything
between $5000-$7000, depending on your learning curve.
